I STEPPED OUTSIDE OF THE FRONT DOOR OF MY OWN HOME ONLY TO FIND THE DEER THAT TRIED TO KICK MY ASS LAST YEAR STANDING RIGHT THERE IN MY FRONT YARD. BOLD AS BRASS.
AM I NOT SAFE ANYWHERE ANYMORE
for those of you who were not here last year: this deer is the most obnoxious, unnatural red-orange color I’ve ever seen, only appears when it’s raining, and once chased me a quarter mile through the woods. her name is Hot Cheeto Hatred and she is my nemesis
dude, i think that’s a fairy
Triple A game devs really out there showing their asses, huh?
“BaLdUr’S gAtE 3 sHoUlDn’T bE tHe StAnDaRd”
And why the hell not? Why shouldn’t players expect more than half-finished, bug-filled games with tons of microtransactions? Why should they settle for playing regurgitated copies of whatever games have been popular for the past ten years when they could be playing games that the devs were actually passionate about making?
When you have access to a bigger budget and more resources than Larian did when they made BG3, what’s your excuse for shipping a broken, half-assed mess of a game?
i’d like to think that astarion would like to be soft. That there’s a part he’s buried for a long, long time that still wants to be treated kindly.
The issue is, he’s gone so long without kindness that he’s forgotten what it looks like. That it can be a little uncomfortable, sometimes, especially if he decides that he hasn’t ‘earned’ that kindness. Not that he’s not /worthy/ of kindness, but there’s been no transaction. Tav hasn’t asked anything more of him than to fight at his side- which is barely an ask when they’re working towards the same goals. He is so astounded and flabbergasted that this person, who clearly is capable and competent, decides to trust him. Even when all the others don’t, Tav trusts him.
And that… that just doesn’t feel right. That’s not a jacket that fits right. It’s too large. It feels as though there must be holes in it, even though as much as he searches he can’t find them.
I think one day, after some time with Tav, he starts to understand that he can give a little bit of kindness back. Now, Astarion was never gentle, even when he was alive, nor was he tender. But he did know how to be earnest. And, travelling with Tav, having them by his side consistently being kind and trusting him- well. He’s learning how to be earnest again. Not frequently, but on occasion. When Tav looks at him, fear in their eyes, unsure of how a battle will turn out- he can be earnest then. When he tells Tav that perhaps his feelings run a little deeper than just a frolic in the woods, he’s earnest then.
Little by little, he starts to remember what it was like to be treated kindly. To be soft with someone else.
Can we please talk about how the female Dragonborn doesn’t have boobs?????
I was legit so happy when I saw this, to not have gender norms shoved onto everything. It makes their comments about pronouns and validating identities all the more special to me.
I really liked it when they did it in Dos2, but now I’m even more happy, becuase it seems like they improved it??
LizardsDragonborns in BG3 is a great race design!
I adore Larian for not being cowards and not putting boobs on female lizards 🥰
